Meet Reverend Ken Klaus,
Speaker for Lutheran Hour Ministries

The Reverend Kenneth R. Klaus of St. Louis, MO is The Lutheran Hour Speaker, and can be heard most weeks on The Lutheran Hour. He serves as
the media spokesman, spiritual leader, and evangelist for the organization,
as well as ministry emissary with The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod
(LCMS) and Lutheran Church - Canada.

Klaus previously was administrative pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dallas, Tex. He also served the International Lutheran Laymen's League (Int'l LLL) as its pastoral advisor from 1996 to 2000 and has held pastoral positions in Minnesota, central Illinois and South Dakota Lutheran parishes. In addition to lecturing in the Midwest, Klaus frequently has traveled throughout Europe, Israel, Palestine, Egypt and Turkey.

A prolific writer, Klaus has published many works. He has authored topical and devotional booklets, the "Ultralife" Bible Study for young adults and sermons for "Concordia Pulpit Resources." He developed the 1997 Lenten devotional series, "Uncustomary Love," and the 1999 Advent devotional series, "Savior for the Centuries," used by Lutheran Hour Ministries. He also authored the 2002 Lenten Devotional, "The Savior Said to Me" for the Int'l LLL.

Klaus holds a Master of Theology degree from Concordia Seminary, Springfield, Ill., and a Bachelor of Arts degree in pre-seminary studies from Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Ind.

Klaus was a member of the Lutheran Counseling and Family Services Board of Directors and has served as a circuit counselor for the LCMS Minnesota South District. He was an active member of the LCMS Minnesota South District Board for Student Evaluations.
